03 / MANUFACTURING + AI
Thinking about failure before printing.
AutoSTL starts with an everyday additive manufacturing question: how can we prepare a new part and anticipate its risks before production begins?
From experience to a product
File preparation brings together decisions that influence print outcomes. For an operation handling varied geometries, repeating this work manually creates a practical challenge of time and consistency.
The direction
I am developing AutoSTL to assess failure risks before printing and use that diagnosis to improve preparation decisions. The focus is prevention before the printing process begins.
Current stage
The project is in development. File preparation work has been built, alongside a development track for failure-risk assessment. Prediction and optimisation are part of the development and validation work ahead.
Why I am building it
It continues my work at Indigo: start with a real production challenge and explore how to turn that knowledge into software useful to other operations.
